Poverty Initiative is an organization dedicated to trying to help the poor improve their lives. Chris Hedges recently spoke at a Poverty Initiative gathering at the Union Theological Seminary. Hedges spoke about the obsolete economic institutions in our country which leave such a large percentage of our people living in permanent poverty. He also addressed the corrupt and illegitimate government, corrupt and useless media, and the right-wing's efforts to scapegoat the weakest members of our society.
