As a few progressive blogs and radio people [Mike Malloy] have noted, the Cubans have been helping Haiti all along, but the U.S. media refuses to even mention the Cubans. For example, not only does Cuba regularly send doctors to Haiti to help the people, but Cuba also brings Haitians to Cuba to educate them and train them to become doctors.
Here's a link to a Cuban periodical, Granma. It includes a pull-down menu that allows the reader to select the preferred language. If you want to read about what the Cubans are really doing to try to help the Haitians, you might want to read Granma.
