Nancy Reagan Thanks President Obama

Nancy Reagan, Republican, former first lady, said today that she is very grateful that President Obama has lifted the restrictions on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research.

"Countless people, suffering from many different diseases, stand to benefit from the answers stem cell research can provide," she said.

Thank you, Nancy. Good job. Millions of people thank you for your compassion and support.

Of course her husband, former President Ronald Reagan, suffered for years from alzheimers disease, one of the many diseases that scientests believe could be better treated if scientific research was allowed to be conducted in accordance with scientific principles. As opposed to letting the mega-church book-touring mansion-dwelling multi-millionaire ministers decide what should be done.

President Obama decided that he will allow federal taxpayer dollars to fund broader research on embryonic stem cells because "medical miracles do not happen simply by accident." No they don't.

For all those who believe in prayer instead of science or medicine, they are still allowed to pray for cures.

But the rest of us, those who believe in science and research, can now begin to move forward into the 21st century instead of backwards into the ignorance of the past. Or the present if you are still a Republican. The few of you who remain. Rush and Mr. Boner.
